Mere days before we came for the home visit, Y. - the primary breadwinner suffered a heart attack. A stroke had already left his wife handicapped, so when Y. was laid-off with the onset of the Covid19 crisis they began steadily accumulating debt, tens of thousands of NIS just to pay for basics. Their apartment was terribly impecunious! Broken doors, rusted plumbing, a fridge with nothing but vegetables, inadequate cleaning products, poverty and destitution screaming from every corner. He’s paying for their poverty with his health. With their mother already chronically ill, let’s save these children’s father!!
